I work second shift so most of my grocery shopping is done after 11 pm. This store is open 24 hours a day so in order to avoid the WalMart crowd I stopped in here. Apprently someone has decided that it is a good idea to turn off half of the lights in the store late at night. Also the only check out option is to use the u scan while the one employee watches us. I have been against the u scan always. It takes away jobs and I feel that if I take the time to spend my money here I should at least be able to have someone run the cash register. This has happened to me twice . The second time they had about 30 people in line and most of us just layed our groceries down and left. Great customer service huh?

I am 72 years old and have shopped Dillons all my life. I am about to abandon this company. Dillons is abandoning thriving neighborhood stores and building fringe superstores. These huge stores have much more space (too much in fact) but less choice in merchandise. Long established items and brands are disappearing while the shelves have huge sections of redundant items rather than choice. Clearly the corp. is contracting with a few chosen brands and excluding others (amazingly, they have even reduced the number of their own - Kroger - brands). Human checkers have been reduced in favor of automated machines. Long lines are the rule at almost any hour of the day and night. Any complaint to a "manager" is met with a shrug and an explanation that they can do nothing - decisions are made at central headquarters. What the hell do they manage?
Dillons has managed to swallow or edge out competition so there are few alternatives and the company knows it and acts like it.
