I hired Kolde Concrete Construction of St. Mary’s Kansas to pour a complete basement for a house. The initial bid was for $31,500. The finished product was not as bid. The walk-out door was poured 3 feet off its mark; the bearing footing was poured 8 inches off center so a small trench had to be dug next to the footing to allow excess concrete to fill the void when the floor was poured. They failed to place a beam pocket in the wall as detailed in the prints; it had to be chiseled out after the fact. The did not pour block-outs for my sewer drain, even after I marked the spot with a pipe labeled “block-out here”. There was a 10 inch wall that was only poured 8 inches thick giving no place for the porch cap to rest on causing them to have to bolt a large I-beam on the wall to support the porch cap. I was advised prior to the porch cap being poured that “the porch caps never leak” mine leaks water into my storm room making it impossible to keep anything dry in there. They stated they would not fix the leak. My sidewalk was not poured to specifications, I requested rounded ends, and it was poured at 90 degree angles. When I spoke with Koldes there answer was “We Forgot” With in 2 weeks of my sidewalk being poured it began to settle ½ inch, now 6 months later it is now at the 3 inch mark.. Over the last month my porch step has cracked and is pulling away from the porch. I contacted Kolde immediately about the sidewalk settling and was told “we will get you taken care of” it has been 6 months and nothing yet. I was told recently that the settling was not there problem and that I would be responsible for repairs. I will never use Kolde Concrete Construction for another thing and hope this review will help you make the right choice. Oh, the final price was over $37,000.
