I get iffy experiences at Radio Shack. A couple of times they've tried to sell me on the expensive item rather than its cheaper alternative - in a pushy sort of way, where I don't really get to explore the true differences (or similarities) between the two. Other times they've been quite helpful and not pushy at all. I do get a little bit of attitude because I'm a woman, however. Not too long ago I took down my wireless router and wired up all my computers instead (someone was filching my DSL) and the guy at Radio Shack totally acted like there was no way I could know what I was doing. That pissed me off.
But other times, as I say, they're genuinely helpful. I guess it depends on who you get - and as their staff rotates pretty frequently, you never know who that'll be.
