I am tired of being treated like a criminal at my local wal-mart. Tonight I went in to simply exchange an UNOPENED Ipod 8gb nano-- blue one for a green one WITH A RECEIPT. Upon ENTERING the store the alarm went off, so I had to be subjected to the greeter (developmentally challenged -- which is another topic to be discussed later) examining my receipt, the item, my bio....etc...., then she kindly sends me to the service desk -- which I could have found on my own, thank you, because I have been there a thousand times since Wal mart is the only store i have ever known, basically. ANYWAY... the service desk clerk looks at the receipt and determines it has been over 15 days since I purchased the BLUE UNOPENED IPOD and says "it could be a problem because this was purchased over 15 days ago, even though it doesn't look like its been opened.........." I said that I sure hoped it wasn't a problem because I bought 2 of them on this receipt, I only want to return 1 of them, I bought them FOR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE NOT TOUCHED THEM SINCE.... I HAVE A CHILD WHO CHANGED HER MIND ON COLOR!!!" Well, the clerk then called the manager of electronics to come and check out the unopened package...... and the manager gave her approval --- Thank God.... So I got the green one, brought it back to the service desk with the escort of the electronics manager..... and then there was another problem with it being over 15 days old -- even though they all agreed it was perfectly unopened. Soooo they had to call the STORE manager to come and approve it. This is like 30 minutes into the process of exchanging something unopened with a receipt for a different color 2 weeks before Christmas. By this time I had had it because of A) the alarm going off when i entered ---JUST AS IT HAD when I bought it, being treated like a criminal by 3 employees and now, we STILL aren't done..... The store manager had to give his approval as well. When I voiced to him my fatigue at being treated like a criminal at WALMART...... All he could say in a smart assed tone was fill out a comment card. to which I said "I DON'T WANT YOUR COMMENT CARD -- YOU PASS THIS ALONG. I WANT RESPECT. I SPEND A FORTUNE HERE." THANKS.... DEBBIE NIEDER

Ever hear of telling your child that she choose that color and has to stick with that decision????

I agree that customer service at Walmart is horrendous! I too was subjected to interrogation by an elderly citizen as soon as I walked in the door with my return. After 10 minutes of paperwork I went to the returns desk with a Rubbermaid sink mat that stunk to high heaven. I was first in line, thank goodness. But no, I was sent to the kitchen accessories aisle 1/2 mile away to bring one back for the CSR to scan (I had opened mine and thrown away the UPC code but did have a receipt). When I returned to the returns desk I was 3rd in line behind women with umpteen items to return and umpteen kids running wild. Two more CSR's were standing around twiddling their thumbs. I finally got my turn and got the H out of that store & have not been back even though I have a mini blind to return. This will have to wait until I have a full day to spend just to return the item.
