I'd like to review Hotel Carter in New York. I had a VERY limited budget for my trip to New York and didn't want to waste a lot of money on lodging while I was there and I wanted to be as centrally located as possible. Not really knowing anything about New York I chose Hotel Carter based on the rates offered online. The hotel has rooms for less than $200 a night and if you book online you get an even better deal, my room was about $125 per night. It was not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination but for a trip to New York when I'd rather spend my money on a nice dinner and some gadgets it was a good savings. It is more like a dump though than I bargained for,
There was no hot water, the doors did not close properly, there were roaches in the hallways and I am sure I saw rats as well. This place is not clean and I wish now that I had treated myself to something more upscale. Even just for $50 more per night I could have stayed somewhere in a better area and had nice running hot shower anytime I wanted. Staff was apathetic to my discomforts and as I'd paid in advance I was essentially stuck. DO NOT STAY HERE.
