Horrible, but I have no other choice - Cable television

I've been with Charter for several years, mostly because it's the only internet/cable service provider in my area. My biggest issue is with their internet service. It is often slow and furthermore goes down for several hours at a time. I have 3 computers, 2 of which are not even a year old, so it's nothing to do with our computers. Even when the Charter technicians come out, they can't find any problems with our lines. Basically they offer no resolution other than "Hey maybe you'd get better speeds if you upgraded to our fastest service." Too bad I'm already on it. And it's not like I live in some tiny unknown town; I live in a major city! Secondly, my cable television's On Demand services rarely work. I always have to call to get it to start working again, and even then it sometimes doesn't and they just tell me to wait it out with no explaination or timeframe as to how long I should "wait it out." And they're always trying to upsell me, even though i have the LARGEST PACKAGE possible with them (cable with ALL the cable channels, telephone and internet at their highest speed). What's funny is that it's not the service that bothers me the most-- it's the customer service agents. They all sound so robotic and impersonal. I know they are supposed to stick to a certain dialogue, but please, just talk to me like I'm a real person that matters to your company!!! I understand that services aren't always going to be at 100%, but I do expect that as a paying customer I will be treated respectably, and not talked down to as if I don't know anything.

Lastly, they always try to nickel-n-dime me, and every freakin time they do it, I have to call to get my bill corrected. I can't imagine the thousands of dollars they make off customers who don't pay attention to what they're being charged :(
