Home Repairs: Jonathan Builders, Inc .

Signed a contract with Jonathan Builders to have some repairs done on my house. It's my fault, I usually check out people before I enter into a contract, however, a friend used this contractor and was pleased. However, after siging, samples were deleivered to my house. I checked out the samples on the internet, only to find it was the bottom of the line. I called the salesman and received no answer. Decided to drive down to their office only to find that it was a PO Box inside of a UPS Store. Signed the cancellation notice and had it delivered that day, which was within the 3 days as stated in the contract. I gave them $1,000.00 down and according to the contract, they were to return my money within 10 days. Today is day #19 and I still have no money. The salesman says it is out of his hands. I have since checked the California State Licensing Board and found that there are three outstanding citations on this company and two of them have been posted just this month. So after mine is posted, that will be 3 for this month. LESSON: Just because someone does good work for a friend, doesn't mean that he will do good work for you or that he is honest.
