Home Depot was a well run organization when it first hit the scene. It has now become another large company that has forgotten about the customer. It's recent attempts to change it's philosophy continue to fail. This past year alone I have several stories... More...

Since the new tag is on the bucket, there is no proof what so ever that those plants are actually the ones that where in the bucket when you purchased them. Do you even know how many people will buy an item, put the old broken item into the new box, and then try to return it for a refund?

Retard! Read the home depot policy! It states that life goods are qualified for a one year warranty with a receipt! Ignorant people like you expect everything free. Thats why some companies go bankrupt.

Maybe you should keep your receipts. There are lots of stupid people who like free money. I think it is good that some of these managers actually have a back bone. I shop at home depot and my belief is that people are idiots. There are lots of people who don't realize you need to water plants for them to stay alive. It is nice that they actually have that year guarantee. The tags on the trees don't have dates on them. Receipts do....enough said.

Our experience was very similar. John H comes out and says "The entire reputation of Home Depot stands behind each and every job". Our Shower was measured and the job priced. Within 1 hour of Jose .. coming to the door to demo the old shower and do some minimal clean up. He shaid that he could not complete the job because it was our fault that incorrect measurements were taken. They abandon the job after leaving the materials in the garage. Where is Home Depot?? No Where to be found.

I am a previous home depot employee, the problem you are having seems to be simple. Yes the ID Tags giving the tree ginus and species is still on the tree but the part that the return cashier (which i was) is on the bucket in which the tree was in. However the return cashier should have been able to paged a garden associate to obtain the correct skew. Then she would have had to use the skew to obtain the bar code (this is what was on your credit card purchase) unfortunatlly their program dont distinguish between the two. I come from a small town and the home depot would go out of their way to satisfy the customer. However we had some sorry managers that did not give a crap for the employees and would do stupid illegal stuff like make us work to twelve at night (to stock) and then come in at six in the morning to work again. I am now a math teacher.
