Shooshoo, thank you for your comment. I believe sears and other merchants would appreciate client like you: reading all fine print on back of the receipt (which you get after you make payment) maybe you are even asking for other user agreements which are referred on the receipt? Sorry my time is too precious and I'm not shopping just to return items after I use it. In fact it was first time in my life I tried to return a purchase which value is bigger than $100.
You didn't get the point of the post at all. From legal point of view if I ask question about their policy I HAVE TO get true and full answer or at least get a document where I can get the answer to my question. The only answer I got was 30 days return. There is no law obligating me to read back of the receipt where they could also print "I love You".
I'm sorry you are either have problem of getting information from read articles or you are employer of Sears responsible for ridiculing all people complaining about Sears just to improve its reputation.
The case stands and is not about 'Seasonal Merchandise'. I invite you to read the post again and then you may add a valuable input.

Im sorry..but how can you not know what 'Seasonal Merchandise' is....hmmm if its only used during a particular season, then this would be considered seasonal...and I believe we dont use an AC unit in the winter??? Ignorance & stupidity isnt an excuse to take legal action..wouldve been your responsibility to read all the details...cause using the excuse of "i didnt know that" isnt a logical response in any situation!

Today I returned a TV and was told about a 20% re-stocking fee, which I was not earlier informed of. It seems that the information was to be found on the back of a Sear’s form that was stapled to my receipt. When this was pointed out to me, I in turn pointed to the front of the form that had my name and address collected on it, and a detailed list of information that I, the consumer was to have been informed about at the point of the sale, specifically the re-stocking charge. According to the Sear’s from, I the consumer was to have been informed about the restocking fee, not misinformed by omission. Based on this information, I argued that it was Sears who had made the mistake, and therefore ought to pay me a refund, which they did. Ps…never will I but electronics at the store again.

Sears lost 56 million dollars last quarter. Weith their terrible costomer service, I wonder why. I will NEVER buy a thing in Sears again, they are the worst. And I have been customer for years, no more. Hope you win in court!
