I have received phone calls from CBE group Inc three times a day for the last two months!!
Every single time there would be a recorded message and you would have to press 1 to be connected to a representative
Finely I had the chance to respond the phone and talk to one of their representative
Only to find out that they were looking for somebody that lived here before us about 5 years ago!!
I was already upset about the ridicules amounts of phone calls and to find out that they are looking for somebody else
But what really got me outrage is that when I asked the representative to make sure that CBE group will not call me again I got a bad attitude and was disrespected!
So instead of an apology for all the unnecessary phone calls I got the opposite
I have never encountered a company that has such a bad work ethics and is disrespectful and unprofessional!
I did not ask to be called 3 times a day for two months and I definitely did not ask to be insulted by CBE group inc
My suggestion for CBE group Inc would be that they take a good look at their work ethics and treat people with more curtsey and respect!
After all if there are no customers there is no company!

0 These actions are illegal. They are not allowed to harass consumers and they must disclose that they are a debt collection agency when they first contact you. also, if you tell them not to contact you anymore, they cannnot do so. Look on the FTC website for more legal information. Write the attorney general and they will take care of it.

0 i just traced the number to CBE group.. they have been calling me 4-10 times a day. i will block them in Verizon. i have no idea which firm gave them my cell number. but i will take care of it first thing Saturday am.. thanks.
0 My wife and I both work full time, we are never home during the day. Our son, who is apparently the person they wanted to contact, used to live with us. For several months we would get a message about press 1, etc., but no more information. Of course, if you can't answer the calls, you can't respond. Since they don't leave a return phone number you can't call back. Well, we finally got a return number, I called, and since we are now handling my son's affairs for a time, we need Power of Attorney, which we have. I faxed them the POA as soon as I could, but now it is Saturday morning, they are open and they can't find it in the office, so I have to wait another few days to find out what this mysterious phone call is about.
What is really strange is that although I suspected they may be a debt collection service, they would not even divulge that information - they can't even tell me what they do?, the government should take lessons from these clowns.
Based on this limited experience, I agree that the company's methods are odd at best, weird at worst.
We have never received any communication by mail from anyone about any debt issues, so this whole thing came as a complete surprise as well.
Of course the company won't change its way of doing business, but it would seem that somebody there would realize that it is in their best interest to provide a return phone number on each message at least. Seems it would save a whole lot of time on everybody's part.

0 They kept calling me and I told them that there was no one here with that name. They keep saying they will call later and they do. This has to be agains the laws and my privacy. The calls start at 8:00 am and don't stop. They will not give you any other information because I'm not the account holder. 0 They are calling me constantly these days, and I know it's in reference to a bill that has been paid. In fact, they just called me, and it's 8:40 on a Saturday morning.

There is a US Government Law to Protect you & STOP those Harassing Phone Calls. It's called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - 15 U.S.C. §§ 1692-1692p
The law was enacted by Congress because "There is abundant evidence of the use of abusive, deceptive, and unfair debt collection practices by many debt collectors" - US Congress FDCPA
The full law is readily available on the net in a pdf file in easy to read format.
Under - Section 805c of the FDCPA (15 USC 1692C) all you need to do is to write a letter to the DEBT Collector stating that you want them to cease and desist communication with you.
If the Debt Collector has been harassing you with phone calls, you can take them to small claims court and win. It costs $25 to $50 to file a claim, but the usual award for a violation of section 805C is around $1000. Use that money to pay off your bill.

0 i use to work there and they are bastards! all u have to do is mention an attorney and then write them a letter stating to cease and desist all communication, they HAVE to stop once u write that letter b/c they are a 3rd party! dont let them be A-holes to you...

0 I have a simple solution for you people who are being harassed beyond belief. Simply do this: 1. look up the corporate officers on the web,2. same for the headquarters address, 3. attorney general for the state the company is incorporated in, 4. get the complaint form number off of the web, 5. send a letter to each officer at the company stating you are filing a formal complaint against the company for harassment, include the form number from the Attorney Generals web site, 6. send the completed complaint form with a copy of your letter to the officer(s) to the Attorney Generals office. Guaranteed to solve your problems. It worked for me. I too had CBE, NCO, Citi, BofA, you name it. They were all looking for some fool who had my number years ago. FYI: the people that work at these companies are rewarded for the harassment and heartache they create.
0 i've had a similar problem, so far all i know is they're looking for a person named patricia at my number (and i'm david)... even after i told them to stop calling they call me two or three times a day asking for patricia. So i've added them to my quick call list in my iphone and when i have free time and feel like i want a few laughs. I call them, while the thank you for calling CBE recording goes in both english and spanish, i add another call to them, merge the two, call them again merge all three and until i've got a group of their reps all wondering what's gone haywire with their phone system. I keep doing this until i get an all circuits busy message... it's good for a few laughs atleast.

CBE group call at your as early as 6.00 AM they say they have their own laws and they don't give a damn to federal trade commission laws
I have been called by CBE Group robocalls for months. Problem is I have no outstanding debt. They are looking for a name we do not know. This is undeserved harrassment
We have found the solution to this problem. They are in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act under the Federal Trade Commission. They told us to send a letter to CBE and tell them we have spoken to the Attorney General and they told us to send them a letter to stop all phone calls and send it Certified Mail, Request Return Receipt. You can get their address on line.
I am being harassed by CBE Group Inc. They call 5 to 8 times a day, they do not leave messages or talk when I answer the phone. Most of the time when I say Hello, they hang up, 1/2 hr to 2 hrs later, they call again. This has got to stop. I am 81 yrs old and my daughter has to help me do everything. We don't need this hassle.
Call or write the Federal Communications Commission. CBE is probably in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which governs the way in which collections agencies can act.
