I am a 18 year old highschool graduate. I am thinking about joining primerica as an agent. My only problem is that I do not know if they are really "ligit" or not i do not want to be a part of a company that will break down a family due to fininacial problems. (as if most of this economy does not have financial problems) so if you know anything on Primerica i would really appreciate your opinion. Thank you

I worked with Primerica when I lived in FL I was flat broke worked 3 jobs and my life had litterly been ripped apart thread by thread. I enjoyed going to work daily and helping ppl, sadly I had to leave the company because I just did not have the time to dedicate to growing my business, however 5 yras later a new husband and new state and I am going to join a team again!
I would not join again if it was not something I 100% belived was beneficial to my clients and my family.
I have a very high moral standard and Have had jobs where I litteraly lay awake at night worried that I talked someone in to something that could hurt them later down the line, Not so with this company I slept like a baby after every apointment.
I just talked to someone from one of my first apointments and guess what~ thy are 2 yrs from being debt free :D its the people willing to do what you show them that succed and for me one sucess is worth the time and trouble it took.
I can't wait to get started again!
Truely,
Patricia J.

I can't really say anything bad about Primerica. My husband did it a few years ago but he didn't feel comfortable asking friends and family their personal finances, but I have found a great opportunity check out this website

RUN, don't walk away from Primerica. Every product is heavily overpriced and without important features.

The SMART loan (mortgage) they offer is smoke and mirrors. I feel sorry for the agents that sell it to friends and family and don't even really understand what they're doing to them. They're sold on what the company tells them and they actually believe it.

I know what I'm talking about, I've been in and outside PFS and work full-time in the industry.

If your serious about this job, then go ahead but first do your research. First of all keep in mind that your going to need about $200.00 to get signed in. Also an extra $30.00 a month for a website that you need to have in order to work. There is also the cash that you need to put in for the insurance certification classes that you must take in order to sell insurance and most of the products.

Also you have to realize that in this job, it's required to build up your team. That means they're going to pressure you into bringing people in to the meetings that they have and then try to have them sign in, after selling them the product of course.

They claim you can make great money part time, but I find that very difficult to believe. First of all any sells person will tell you that in order to sell you must be working 24/7 because everyone is a potential customer. Nothing bad with that but if you turn on your customer radar on certain hours a day you might not be as successful as the rest. It's not an hourly job, it's a sell and get paid job. So in order to make money you have to sell, not just try or help, but sell.

If your interested in an insurance career or something in that field, I would suggest to just get some classes at a proper certified school. Then you can apply at more stable jobs where you wont have to stress out if everyone you know all ready has insurance and you can't seem to find anyone willing to give you a chance to explain what you can do.

Here's another thought: if you were my recruit, before I even let you submit an IBA, I'd have you take me on a couple appointments. This way you can see how the service and solutions Primerica provides works. Once you determine whether or not you see there is value in what Primerica does, then you can make a choice to get on board or not. If you're not passionate about helping out families in a common sense way, then probably not good timing for you at this point. Also, you get a real good education yourself for just the small fee of the background check. I'm surprised they don't teach the financial principles that have been around for eons in high school, and it would cost you tons more for a college course, and you still won't get the same education from that. Don't think of it as an expense, bubt rather as an investment, and then go take care of the people that you care about the most first... teach your parents what they were never taught to teach you.

Primerica is quite legit. Where it fails for most reps is lack of personal credibility, no warm market, and inability to overcome fears and objections. You can also fail in the business if you do not have a good base shop support nor a good upline trainer. If you plan to just make extra money, you shouldn't have to ever work in a cold market, so if your warm market is just a bunch of broker friends, then you will not likely do well as an 18 year old. in that case, wait a few more years. Your warm market should always be able to generate referrals. If you plan to make this a solid bubsiness, then you need to understand how to develop new reps, and for that you should have good credibility and leadership skills. You can be successful. Would be a cool story for me to hear about later. The key is "you actually have to do something." So, if you're wondering if there's a catch, that's it. Good luck!

I totally understand your apprehension about signing on with a company that deals in families finances especially in this day when so many families are hurting do to the actions of immoral or unethical financial practices. I have been with primerica for three months now, and can honestly say I have never been more impressed with the integrity and honesty with which they deal with their clients. Of course, there will be bad eggs in any company, no matter what the intentions of the corporation itself, but this company has an amazingly high rate of ethical, licensed and trained individuals who truly have family's best interests at heart. For the person who responded by saying you should only work with licensed and trained individuals, he's absolutely right. Know that Primerica has only ever worked with licensed and trained individuals. I was not allowed to conduct any business with this company until I had become licensed with the State of California. But as to what the commentor said about "Don't do it!" I can only say that you'll have to make your own judgment call. I would urge you to give Primerica a real chance. I have never been more excited or more clear conscienced about working with a company than I have with this one. Primerica has paid for my training, my licensing, and will continue to do so as I seek higher forms of training. They have paid for my Life Licensing with CA state, and they will be paying for my Section 6 and 63 which will allow me to broker securities. So, as the first commentor said, yes, seek out a company that will underwrite your training as you get started. Primerica is an excellent example of that type of company. I hope you will give it a chance and that you will be very successful in it, or whatever else you choose to do.

I myself am a high school graduate and I have been in the business for only 6 months and I made an extra 3 grand last month. I would recommend not waiting to see if it is legit but to just do it. It is so worth it. I am getting ready to be promoted and this time next year I will be close to a six figure income. Do not miss this.

all i can say is Primerica is an awesome company with terrific opportunites that you will never get with any other company so if your not AFRAID..... then step outside the box and give it a try what do you have to loose. If anything aleast go to a buisness overview meeting its 90 minutes and if at the end of it your still not interested then your no worse off than when you walked in the meeting in the first place. YOU JUST NEED TO MAKE A CHOICE.
