Good hotel in NY

Does anyone know a good hotel to stay in in New York? I have stayed in many places and am trying to find a place that is clean and fairly nice with nice customer service. Dont need a boutique hotel or a famous brand. Just a nice professional place that is not more then about 250 a night.
