From 2001 to 2005 I have taken an international trip each year to Italy via USAir. I am a participant in their Divident Miles program. On checking my mileage recently, I noted that the website said that I had forfeited 29,000 miles due to inactivity. I wrote via email to US Air several times and received no response. In a phonecall, I learned that their "policy" was with no activity in a 3 year period I would forfeit any miles I had. When I mentioned that three years had not passed since my last flight, I was told that the policy was now 18 months and that I could reinstate my miles by paying $200.00 or taking a first class flight. Has anyone else experience this travesty? I received no notice that these miles were expiring and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was cut off and when I called again, I was put on hold. I patronized USAir for 5 years with an international flight each year and now they take back the miles I won according to their "policy" at the time. This is unfair and I wonder if other airlines are adopting something like this to further "stick it to" their passengers.
