Fraudulent cancellation charges on bank account

I had been a loyal customer of DirecTV since 2004. In 2006, I upgraded to a DVR with service, and knew that this would start a new contract. During the process of this time, I moved into an apartment and don't have authorization to have a satellite dish, so I cancelled the service after my extended contract ended. A few days after cancelling, I was charge a fee equal to a remaining balance of $18 and some change, and a $125 cancellation fee, despite the rep telling me at the time of cancellation that I was no under contract and there wouldn't be a fee. Despite this, and having to call back and speak with several others who also didn't understand why I was charged a fee, I was still charged this fee and it was not removed from my account. Several different conversations and phone calls later, I was told so many lies, including that it had already been credited back, the fee had been reinstated, and they had to investigate again, etc. The bank was really of no help either, but that's another story for another day.

All in all, had things not gone horribly wrong, I would have planned on getting their service again in March when I move, but this will not ever be the case again. I am beyond disappointed, and quite upset at having to even have such a dispute between them and my bank, particularly when they're able to verbally admit that they're not sure why I'm being charged this fee in the first place. If you don't know why, then remove the charge and give me my money back.
