I did. The office of the comptroller of the currency simply mediates complaints. They laid it on the bank that accepted it (Chase). The woman who altered it had someone from the organization for whom it was intended ( her friend) write chase and threaten to sue if they charged it back due to the legnth of time. it took fcb over 6 months to "investigate". I will get my money back. It doesn't matter about chase, however. Once I notified FCB they, by law, should have credited it back.Sorry same person but I forgot my password as it has been months since I posted this.

If it was altered how come the check was still brought to the bank? We aren't allowed to take anything that look altered. It is company policy. Because if for any reason the check come back as NSF or Fradulent, it is on us. We can actually get fired for accepting a check like this.

Contact FDIC and file a complaint-then contact The Comptroller of the Currency Administrator of National Banks and file a complaint-tell the bank what you are doing.
