False Advertisment

I have never been so disappointed and disgusted in my life. My husband and I went into the store in Cool Springs,Tn where we were met by several sales associates. I let my husband and the sales person talk me into putting a ring on layaway so that I could bring my diamond back at a later date to be mounted into the ring. I was told more than five different times that at anytime within a month I could call back to the store and ask for a complete refund on the layaway if I decide not to purchase the ring. I called back in less than 2 weeks and was told that I would not be able to get my money back. The company had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and would not be handing out money only merchandise credits. One of the reasons we went into the store was due to the fact that Shane Co. advertise that they pay for everything they buy, they owe no one. This is not true they owe their customers the same respect and honesty that they portray. They also should honor their policies.I will never buy from this company again.

Camille I feel the same way and much more. Shane Co’s “Lifetime Warranty” is a total LIE! I just can’t believe that they’ve gotten away with it all these years. It serves them right that they are going bankrupt. Their Lifetime Warranty states that “they will replace broken/chipped diamond, accidental loss…blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. A year ago my husband upgraded into a bigger diamond which means that they would need to build or replace the prongs to accommodate the new diamond. Several weeks ago I went to put on my ring and the diamond was gone…actually not only the diamond, the prongs and the diamond fell off. We went to Shane Co and were told that they are not replacing the diamond because it was not a “Manufacturer’s Defect and they don’t cover loss diamonds under their warranty.” The store manager insisted that the reason is because of some “force” to the ring that caused the prongs/diamond to break off or fall apart. If it was a force I would have felt it, she said it could be a slight force that I would not even feel. She then told us that she had 2 of her jewelers look at it and they came to the same conclusion. They are basing it on the fact that the prongs on the smaller diamonds were bent and that there were marks on the band???? I took it to a local jeweler and they were appalled by what Shane Co was saying. When they inspected the area where the diamond and prongs broke off, they found that there were bubbles and holes that indicated that it was poor workmanship and it was poorly done. When I mentioned the “bent prongs” the jeweler looked at me funny and said, that’s how they were set and that it had nothing to do with the ring falling apart. Shane Co needs to live up to their Lifetime Warranty! I just don’t know how these people who were so wonderful the first time you met them and acted like they cared can even sleep at night knowing that they lie to people everyday.
