I signed up for direct tv online last week. The tech came and installed free this past Sunday. I recieved a bill in the mail for $75. The promotion was $42 a month CHOICE package with the DVR. They are now telling me tht in order to get the rebate i must go online and fill out a survey and then i will see the rebate on my account in about 6 weeks. Another thing they didnt tell us is that because we signed up for a DVR you are automatically signing up for a 24 month contract. To buy out of the contract it cost $20 per month for the rest of the contract 24*20=$480. I have had the service for less than a week and after recieving my bill in the mail i called to cancel. The guy told me to cancel without having to pay the cancellation fee you must call within 24hours of the service install. Customer Service basically blamed me for not reading the contract fully when i signed up and said there is nothing they can do. I asked to speek with several supervisors but was basically just told the same thing by each person in the rudest way possible. Total assholes on the phone, tipical of shity american company trying to swindle good ppl out of their money. I would not recomend Direct TV to anyone.
