I am feed up with Direct T.V. I signed up several years ago and about 1 1/2 years ago I upgraded to HD. When the installer came he stepped through my attic ceiling and cause $1500 damage. DTV paid to have it fixed but the hassle and lost 1 week work to be here when they fixed it. After 7 or 8 visits by techs, they could never get the HD to work. Finally one tech said that I would have to cut down trees to get the right signal. It was winter and I told them they should have told me that when they installed the HD dish. They said that I could get the signnal if I moved the dish to the top of the roof, but that they had a company policy against that in the winter time. So bottom line, they couldn't give me HD I canceled the HD and tried to cancel the whole contract but they said I had now renewed for another 2 years with the HD upgrade. They have had my CC number so I was stuck. I stayed with the minimum service for another 1 1/2 years. I also mailed them back their HD reciever (HDDVR). Recently when checking my account, I noticed that it indicated that I no long had a "commitment" It also said that my CC had expired so I thought I would take a chance and cancel altogether. The DTV customer service person said that I had to send the HDDVR back. I said I already did and she checked my histor and could not see where they had charged me for it so she said it appears that I must have sent it back. Today a return box arrived with stated that I need to return the HDDVR. I am pissed. I have the paper work from when I sent it back. After all the hassle that they have put me through and the wasted time (I am a professional and my time is valuable) I am going to get a lawyer and document the entire story and provide my paperwork evidence as well as sworn testimony from neighbers and two of the service technicians about the inability for them to provide the HD service. I am going to get them back for all the wasted time and grief and pain and suffering that they have caused me. If Direct T.V. is monitoring this web site then you can look up my account number and send me an appology. If it comes in time, I won't follow through on the suit.
