Didn't keep their word - Microwave

HH Gregg messed up a kitchen installatin. Bottom-line is that they drilled unecessary (and huge) holes in my new custom cabinets then only to find the appliance didn't fit. At first, they gave me a free hood to hide the damage and substituted the built-in microwave for a free standing. I told them I didn't want a free standing one because I didn't think it would fit so I wanted that money back. They told me to hold on to it until the kitchen was done and then if I didn't want it, I could return it. About six months later my custom kitchen was completed and the free standing microwave didn't fit. They are refusing to take it back saying it's been too long. They never gave me a time limit and anyone who has been through a custom renovation knows it takes a long time. I'm fuming! I will never give them a dime because they didn't keep their word and they don't seem to care. I took this to the corporate level and their response was basically to sue them.
