Defective Tires Continental Tires - Marana, AZ

I purchased a Nissan Ultima two years ago and the Continental Touring tires are already deteriorating! They are chunking off pieces of rubber from the tread! I do normal driving on city roads at speed average of 50- 55 mph tops. Occaisional driving at 75-80 mph. It is even garage kept with just over 26,000 miles. These tires should last to 88,000 miles according to Continental tires. We have never seen tires fall apart this way in the 45 + cars we've owned! We took the tires to Discount Tire as directed by Nissan, and they would only discount me 30 dollars per tire! I should not have to buy tires for a 2 year old car with low mileage! Discount tire called the damage "Road Hazard "damage! This is rediculous! I will never purchase a car again if it has Continental Tires! I forgot to even mention how driving on these tires sounds like driving over a road that's been stripped down (noisy) and doesn't handle well at speeds 55+! What does it take to get a company to admit their item is defective? I feel my tires should be replaced or be given cash to cover the cost of my buying a different brand of tire. I will be contacting Nissan and Continental tires again to try to come to better terms. I hope this helps others from having the same problem I have had.

We too have an Altima, 2005, only 22K miles. Coming back from Sacramento on I5, in the middle of nowhere, I loose air, the tire flat and the AAA fix it guy and I could not find a puncture in the tread and had not seen a tire break up like it did, comparing to typical damage when flating and pulling off the road from 70MPH. I have yet to speak to the Nissan dealer and a tire supplier company but anticipate the similar BS I read in complaints reqarding this tire manufacturer. It happened to be the left rear, a non drive wheel, which I wouldn't expect. Scary to consider using Continentals on any vehicle you own!
