Phoenix Vacations Complaint

Complaint - Fraud - Vacation Club

I attended a seminar type presentation in Brookfield, WI at a small business called Going Places Travel in which I was to receive a FREE gift. I signed up to become a member to Phoenix Vacations and when I went home and visited their site it showed Castaways on the tab. Castaways Vacation Club has many terrible complaints and reviews. When I confronted Going Places Travel they stated that they used to be a distributor for Castaways Vacation Club and now are a distributor for Phoenix Vacations. However, I went to Phoenix Vacations web site before they changed it and the tab stated Castaways. The web site has now been cleared of any association with Castaways. It is one and the same and with the number of complaints Castaways has it can be seen why they changed their vacation club to Phoenix Vacations. When you buy a Phoenix Vacations travel membership you really are working with the same people under Castaways Vacation Club and their owner Bill Bailey. Do a google search under Castaways Vacation Club and you will see why they changed their name and are operating under Phoenix Vacations now.

we also think we were scammed, it was too good to be true because we checked out a couple places we have already booked and they couldn't come close to what we already have. because of our stupidity we maybe out over $3000. I am sick to my stomach right now. should have listened to clark howard warning signs, but didn't!

Well, I lost $729 for signing up and cancelling within 3 days, after checking prices and realizing that they couldn't get me cheaper than what I already was. I made a dispute on my credit card, but after 2 months they gave them the money back, I got a refund, but of course they kept $729. Phoenix Vacations in The Woodlands, TX

Thank you for your research and your comments. Last night we attended a Going Places Travel presentation at there Appleton office on the Phoenix Vacations private membership club as they called it, with information way too good to be true with a slick presenter that really interested us because of the low fares, low hotel rates and astonishing timeshare offers. We opted to do research first before we signed, and were asked numerous times why we would not take such a good offer now. If they can't wait for an answer, you should. It was over $7000 just to join the club, and with no real estate, nothing subtantive but a promise for service and low fares.

When something sounds like it is too good to be true, it usually is.

There were many people still at the travel agent's office with sales representatioves when we left. Hopefully they made the right choices.

We too were scammed. Just wondering, did any or all of you see a powerpoint while there?

I attended the presentation in Dallas and was openly lied to similar to many of you. I am out my fees gifts and airfare and was treated with contempt. They processed a credit transaction without my awareness after asking for my Ids. I don't know how they can keep getting away with it. the bank was not willing to intercede. I think we should band together and try to prosecute.

Yes, these guys are fraud. They are linked to Travel Partners which is also a very big fraud. Beware of these names.

I bought in to it and now I am out over $900.00. They are scam artist. They promis you trips like $650.00 round trip including air and hotel to London and say they can book it that night for the price. I used to work for an Airline so I wanted the benfits of travel for cheap prices and thought it would be great. After we got the price down from 8000.00 to 4000.00 including processing and annual dues we bought it through Royal Palm Travel in Dallas, who sellsvthis membership through SeaLand Travel. They do give you 3 days to get your money back however they charge you a 15% restocking fee and 399.00 for processing. What are they restocking? On the way home I came to my sences and thought this is to good to be true. I found a trip on travelocity and had them quote me the same trip the next day. What I found was cheaper than what they could book it for. They do not save you any money. They also promis you a password to get on a website to see prices and book travel for less, however you don't get this for seven days. This would ensure that your three days to get your money (part of your money) back has passed. They are scam artist in my eyes. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I have also found on other sites that there are other like us and are looking to file a class action lawsuite. I would like to get in on that if there is one going on. They are giving false information and you are not getting what you are promised

They are now running this scam as Royal Palms Travel in Dallas out of One Galleria Tower, Suite# 1850. Instead of Phoenix Vacations or Castaways Vacation Club, the membership program has been renamed to SeaLand Travel Club. New names same game!

I too was scammed a rew days ago. My husband and I are going to try and do something about it. I know we won't get our money back but will try to keep them from scamming others. I am sure they will just open up in another location. We were treated unbelievabley mean. We were never talked to that way in our lives. The total opposite of when we went for our presentation. Any help I can get would be appreciated. thank you.
