We have been trying to transfer our Comcast service from our old address to our new home. We had an install appointment on Saturday, 8/16/08, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. They didn't come. We called and were told the technician would call us but to call back in 1 hr.... More...

On June 8, we canceled our Comcast Service. The representative told us that our timing was good and that although the service would not be discontinued until June 16th, we wouldn't owe anything further. On June 12th, Comcast drafted another $61 from our checking account. I called on the 13th to find out what was going on. I was told it takes 2-3 days to discontinue direct drafts. I informed her that the 12th was actually 4 days after the 8th. I asked that since they pulled my money, they should just put it back in the account. I was told that they had deleted my checking account information - for my protection! Less than a week later, we received a bill for over $400 for the converter we had yet to return - and for service after we had canceled. Well, it is not August 18, the converter has been returned and we are STILL waiting for a return of our money. My advice - steer clear of Comcast.
