Defrauded: Citibank Just Wants Their Money
I’ve been a loyal Citibank customer for seven years now, with a credit card and a bank account, and for seven years, I’ve never complained to them once about any fraudulent transactions on my account.
But for the first time, I was defrauded by a merchant. I wanted him to ring up one charge of $309. Unbeknownst to me, he managed to charge my card five times within two minutes.
Then he returned 5 minutes later and said that my card was refused. So, he proceeded to charge my friend’s card twice.
I’ve been fighting these charges for 3 months now, and what is Citibank’s response?
Too bad.
Gradually, they’re putting all of the charges back on my account. How could anyone possibly think that I would make 5 charges of $309 in two minutes and think that they are legitimate charges?
I’m canceling my account as soon as possible. If, God forbid, someone defrauded me for an even larger account, you can bet that Citibank is just concerned with getting their money back.
They do not care about you. They even sent me a threatening letter saying they would “report me” if I didn’t pay my minimum balance on time.
Take you money and give it to someone who will watch out for you; not someone who will use it to screw you over like Citibank.

I'm glad I took the tme to research this bank's habits of consumer treatment. I will make another choice rather than go with these theiving idoits!
