Chase home loan modification - home loan modification

Waiting on my home modification for about 6 months. What is the story?
I have a representative working for me and they say everytime you call you cannot give any time frame on start of negotiations. What is really going on with Chase and home modifications. I am really hearing alot of complaints. How can I find out the status and future of my home modification.

I am in the same situation as most of you. After 18 months of fighting with Chase I was finally approved for the modification but I had questions about the "contract" and contacted my rep. at Chase to help me. He didn't respond back with any answers after mt repeated phone messages and emails . Finally I got the answer I needed so we sent the paperwork in. From the time I first found out about the approval and the actual papers came it was 57 days. I had 3 biz days (over Memorial holiday) to return. Since I didn't send them back in time they now will not accept the paperwork and have started to foreclose again.I have talked to everyone at Chase even the executive office. My rep will not admit he dropped the ball by not helping me and Chase takes no responsibility for their employees lies, misguidedness and incompetence
with my account. I have been to every agency out there to get the help I needed. My last hope is God and Congressman Walter B. Jones from North Carolina. I took my file to them Wed. and now I wait. I have emails and papers to back up the stupid things they have done to me over the last 18 months. My advice is to call everyone in government in your state and call the banking commission and att. general to file a complaint
It will take "an act of Congress" to stop them selling my home but I refuse to give up. I have
done everything Chase wanted me to do and they are wrong to treat us this way. God is in control of my life and He will make this stop. I will keep all of you in my prayers also. Fight until they throw you out!

It appears that Chase treats everyone the same - POORLY. I have been at it now since Sep 09. Am on the second modification due to their own screwups. They obviously cannot read and they certainly are hiring people and not adequately training them on how to use the Chase computer system. I have found that IF you push them when on the phone with them, they can find those lost documents - they are usually just mislabeled.

File a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency. They oversee Chase. They will actually go to the bank with your issue.

Dear disgusted Chi,
the $1000 incentive is not for the homeowner, the $1000 is given to the bank as an incentive to comply with HAMP. it costs the bank about that much to do a modification. the bank accepted that money so they should be complying with the laws. however this is not the case.

To everyone else: make sure to send all documents timely and by certified mail. The mortgage servicer has no incentive to comply with HAMP since they make more money on your lack of compliance and fees then they do if they modify. They will ALWAYS lose your docs if you do not protect yourself by holding the bank accountable (certified mail, they have to sign for it and acknowledge reciept).

I have the same problem with Chase. Been working with them since April. They keep requesting the same paperwork. Once i call they said that they received it and then i get a letter to resubmit the same paperwork again. I got a second denial based on their opinion that they did not receive the paperwork that i confirmed that they received. If there is a lawyer out there who is planning a class action lawsuit i kept all my paperwork and i live in american canyon, ca and would like to visit your office. My email is carterpat@netzero.com

What are we all going to do about this?
I sent an extensive letter describing every one of the issues I read in the replies to this complaint to every Chase and Gov't organization I could find. It just seems that we could get a class action lawsuit against Chase. They were allotted exorbitant amounts of money from the gov't for exactly the issues we have all outlined and they are denying us.

My solution from the lady who called me after several angry attempts to understand the Alt Mod Chase offered me was "You are holding the last offer we;ll make." She basically told me to take it or leave it. Here's the insanity which I also see others have had to endure. I started the modification process in February of 2009. The Fed program kicked in after I was qualified in March but I had to be behind on the payments before they would approve me for the program. So I selected to go into default to qualify for the mod program as our financial situation was headed for change with my husband's soon to come retirement. Long story short I spent over a year in the modification process. I sent Chase packets of documents over ad over. I was denied in November, complained and they gave me a new underwriter. It took them another 6 months and this week I get a FedEx package with an offer. Well they claim I did not have the sufficient documents even though the latest set was faxed from a Chase branch. "We don't see anything since November." So my wrath came out when I asked Chase how in the world could a customer be in a modification process and nobody at the bank informed the customer that there were missing documents. "We sent you requests in the mail" they told me. Now I sent them what they claimed was missing in February which were check stubs. That's all they said I needed even after talking to a person on the phone. So they basically denied me for a permanent modification because they were missing documents. The lady couldn't verify that this was the case but she did let me know that it was my responsibility to make sure that faxes were received so if I didn't follow up with the last set of documents sent on 3/31 then it was my fault. The alt mod payment is $4 less than my original payment but here was the real kicker. "We folded in the missing payments, added escrow and your new payment on the old loan is now $2,345.98 up from $1,564.86." What a shocker. If I am struggling to make the $1,56486 payment how would I ever be able to give Chase an additional $800 a month on a new payment that they have sent me no information on??????? WTF! My complaint is the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at Chase. You can talk to five different people on the same day and they will all give you different information. There are people who got 2% interest rates and on top of that for those who weren't told as I wasn't, if you get approved for a HAMP there is a $1,000 monthly incentive if you pay your mortgage on the first of the month without missing that due date. "What $1,000 I asked?" Nobody mentioned this to me at all and I was pissed when I read that my alt mod didn't qualify me for the $1,000 incentive. So it seems like at least they gave me somewhat of a deal so I should just take it and shut my big mouth. I am going to continue to push the sloppiness and ineffectiveness of the Chase loan modification process as I have been very dissatisfied with Chase since they bought out First Chicago. They are the worst mortgage holder we've had in 28 years. If you can find a way to refinance or pay off your loan then do so and get as far away from JP Morgan Chase as you can.

My wife and I have been at it since CHASE was WAMU. October 2006. We have exhausted all of our financial resources trying to wait them out and get some resolution. We got a modification approved in Nov 2009 that would have ultimately increased our payments by $1000 per month. The only thing we can do now is keep trying until they make us move out. To date we have sent in 18 information packets and have had NACA trying to help since December of 2009; all to no avail.

Chase did me the same thing. I filled out my loan modification papers last year in June. After the three trail papers, I called was advise to keep making trail papers. Contacted Chase several times with the same response. Now almost a year later they said I didn't qualify and must pay 3000.00 or I can try another modification just send in more paperwork. Chase is a rip off and they are no trying to help us. As soon as I can I am going to refinance my loan with someone else.

I am self employed and my income fluctuates. Called to make 2 payments over the phone June 2009. The Chase rep. said that if I don't pay them then I can enter the loan mod. program, so after an hour on the phone with her, I was in the program with a new payment at 58% of my old one. Same story with re-sending paperwork 3-4 times. Now going on 11 months later, I was denied by HAMP and Chase's internal mod program. HAMP due to income fluctuation, Chase due to get this....my ratio of mortgage debt vs. value to the house did not fit their parameters. After discussing it a couple minutes I realized that what he mant was we had too much equity so it's an attractive house to foreclose on. When I mentioned that he said, "well if you want to wotd it that way". No awaiting word if I'm approved for temporary forebearance. But in my mind if they did not approve me for 52% of the payment, are the going to for 125%, full payments plus payback of the back monies owed???

My husband & I are also sick of all this BS with Chase. We qualified for a loan mod over the phone but still had to make the 3 month payments while we sent in all the copies of paystubs, bank statement, taxes, hardship letter, etc (twice). Finally heard back from them 9 months later & said our payment would be $1900 starting 3 months later. Just before the 3 month mark, I called Chase & advised we hadn't received our loan mod papers to sign and our new payment was due. He said it was hung up in 'underwriting.' He put me on hold and came back & said they were giving us an additional 2 months for them to send the paperwork we needed to sign and start our new payment. Those 2 months came & still NO paperwork. I again called & just so happened they'd "approved" it the day before and the paperwork should be to us within 2 weeks. Our "new" payment was now over $2000 because the interest has accrued more. So I'd asked the lady on the phone,, (they gave us a 4.875% interest/30 yrs) I knew someone else that also has Chase Mtg.. They received the 2% interest for 5 years.. Can we get the same deal? No she said.. it's only for Fanny Mae & Freddy Mac & we have an FHA so it's not available for us..WTHeck?? So now it looks like we're going to have to let the house go. We're in a gated community and also was behind on the monthly payments, so they'd sent us to a collection agency. I called the collection agency to find out what we owed in back pay. Then I called the homeowners assocation to see if they can take us OUT of collection,, we can pay off what we owe, we just can't pay the $1500 collection fee. Our monthly payment would be $220 month for 2 years (just their fees) even if we paid off what we owed them. So between the gate fee and our $2000 house pymt, we can't live there anymore.. What I don't get is when they forclose on us, they will sell it for what the value is (CA).. Why can't we get that deal? Lower the cost or just extend the loan.. NO WAY... errrr.. looking for a house to rent now. :(

I hear you. Chase doesn't want to be bothered with helping anyone with a glitch in there credit. But lets face it a very large number of people are in the same sinking boat. With no help from Chase . But, don't worry Chase is doing just fine with there bail out . What's up with ours?

My head is spinning right now after reading the complaints and absorbing the reality of what CHASE is up to?! I added a question mark because I do not have a CLUE as to what's going on with my account on my home loan. It all started when my husband's work related disability ended in August. My hours were dramatically cut back at work as well. So, we were on our way to financial ruin. Chase had helped us before when my husband was first injured in 2007. However, every time we spoke to someone at Chase, it was nothing but a run around. We were three months behind - with a foreclosure date scheduled, when they finally sent us an "Agreement". On the phone, they made it seem like it would be a temporary six month modification. Instead, we received a Forbearance Plan that was incorrect on so many levels. So, I called them back and was advised that an Analyst would call us to set up a Modification. They advised me NOT to make a payment because it would mess up the modification. I finally spoke with our Analyst on 1/28/10...He is a very nice man who advised me that he was putting our Foreclosure on HOLD and that our first payment of the modification would be due in probably April.....Well, here it is: Mid-April and we still have not received a Modification or any definite word about it. I have submitted the documents, hardship letter, etc - Everything that he has requested yet I hear nothing. Now I am receiving creepy letters in the mail from agencies who claim that Chase is a fraud and that they can prevent us from losing our home! My nerves are so strung out, I am losing sleep and I feel like I cannot trust anyone because NO ONE seems to know what's going on! I left another message and informed him that I was going to send in a payment. Our financial situation has improved and I WANT to get back on track! At this point, we are 6 months behind because we trusted CHASE!

Chase will not do loan mods. They are prolonging the forclosure process. They rather get some money coming in then nothing at all. meanwhile while you're making you meaningless mod payment you are getting further behind on you're regular payments, so when you get declined you will not be able to come up with the money to save you're home. mod payments go to administrative fees. they don't tell you this in the beginning. i was better off being 2 payments behind and tring to catch up. no loosing my home and chase doesn't care. there still making billions of dollars in profits.

HI,
I have the same comment here... I have been on loan modification with Chase like over a year and they just turned me down last week. and let me behind my payment like 9 months. I dont know how the hack they do and all they said, we are denied. No letter said what went wrong and what we should do. I dont know what I can do and I need help fast to save my home... I have been put everything in this home and I dont want them to take away that easy. Why Government doesn't look over these cases ... and then complain the economy is not raise. If we could stand up together and put out a long letter to President Obama regarding about Chase... at least to teach them something. Please give me some helpful information on how to contact someone that really know what they do and save my home... please

I understand totally what it is that you are saying. We all are at a huge MAJOR disadvantage in these negotiation proceedings. In these dealings! What I don't understand is that since I know that we aren't the only ones who realize this (or are we?), why aren't more people going to lawyers and compliant loan modification companies to get their loans modified? Instead they will listen to their lenders who tell them not to, then they frustrate the hell out of you until you give up and/or lose your homes...Then you want to find a lawyer for a class action lawsuit. That doesn't bring your home back...

The government needs to do something to punish these banks for not doing what they agreed to do when they accepted that tarp money...And, we as consumers need to take all of our money out of these banks, and open up accounts at our local credit unions. Money is all they seem to understand. We all know that the President can't do this all himself. And, the other politicians can't seem to agree on anything fast enough to help all or most of us homeowners not lose our homes. I feel for anyone who has to lose their homes when they don't have to. YOU NEED TO DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO SAVE YOUR HOMES! NOT LISTEN TO THE SELF CENTERED ADVICE THAT THE LENDERS ARE TELLING YOU. Hire a professional to get this loan modification done for you. The legitimate ones know what they are doing, do your research. Find the right company or lawyer (one who knows what he's doing) and go at the banks like you'd goto court..prepared with the best representation that you can find..I can't stress this enough how much sleep I got and gray hairs I lost once I turned my case over to Corey Lassiter at Clear Image Financial Group, Inc.. They are one of the good guys. Kept in touch with me from the very beginning, I could view updates on their website, or phone in and speak to the negotiator assigned to my case, as well as I don't know how many time I spoke to Mr. Lassiter on the weekend or late in the evening via his cell phone. He always took the time to speak to me. Then when my loan mod was approved, I could exhale....They got accomplished in 90 days what I couldn't seem to get past step one for about 6 months. I will never forget what he told to me.. He said, " When the banks ask you questions over the phone or ask you to send in the same paperwork over and over again, they are not really looking to approve you. They are hoping you tell them or send them something to disqualify yourselves". And, the more I read these blogs and forums the more I realize that that is 100% true.

Look for yourselves, out of the 344 comments on here am I the only one who got approved? I must of been the only one who used a professional! You have a better chance of getting approved if you do. His contact info for all you smart people who whats to keep their homes is 877-940-1477 ext 231, classiter@clearimagefg.com. I can lead you to water..well you know the rest!

I got an answer from chase after 2 months but my modification was denied. After speaking with 11 different reps who just kept giving me the run around and transferring me all over the place, I finally got an answer as to why. They said I don't owe enough. I owe less than a 100,000 so even though I'm able to prove financial hardship, they won't approve it becuase it only BENEFITS CHASE for me to do a 10-30 year refinance so they end up getting more money from me in the long run. From what I got from this rep, they basically force people who qualify for a refinance to refinance so they can get more money out of them by extending their loans.

I feel your pain, all of you. I was fortunate enough to find a company that is legitimate. Now I know that the banks the news and government say we shouldn’t go to any company that charges, that the banks will modify your loans for free. Well, how many of us on here have had our loans modified by the banks?

A lot have lost their homes, and lot more still will unless you do what’s necessary to save your homes from the banks. I went through what most of you have, I was there. Then I was referred to Corey Lassiter of Clear Image Financial Group. They saved my home.

I know I would have lost it to Wachovia if it wasn’t for him, Tasha, Denise and the rest of the people who work there. Got me caught up on my mortgage 1st & 2nd, lowered my interested rate & payment, and secured me a 50k principle reduction.

Before anyone else on here loses their homes you need to give them a call 877-940-1477 ext 231. Corey Lassiter. Don’t be afraid of hiring a loan modification company, be afraid of the banks, they are the ones who are taking our homes!

I know they get the job done. News and TV made me afraid to even consider a loan modification company because they are all scams and my lender will do it for free (wrong). There hasn’t been not one story about a good company and when I tried to contact my local news channel they told me that my success story wasn’t news (What!)

So, I am making it my mission to spread the word on this GREAT company!

I would think that if the people who start these forums and blogs were really trying to help that they’d do research to find credible companies that can help us out when we have run out of options. So this thread here is for eveyone to post info on companies (loan modification, lawyers, non-profits) who have been able to help you save your home!

I have the same problem with Chase. They don't want to work with anyone. The only way to get to them is to get a lawyer to do it. I know of several people who get their home modification by using a lawyers. It seems like only the lawyers that get access to the people who's in charge of the decision making. Other peoples or representatives are just stuges....who has no decision making authorities. They are just there to gives customers the run a round
