I opened a Care Credit card for dental work with a 1 year no i nterest promotion. I paid every month electroncially and was never late. I paid the last payment within the terms of the 1 year agreement but then received a statement that showed I owed the interest. When i contacted them they said they never received payment. I contacted my bank and they sent a letter stating that they contacted GE Money/Care Credit on my behalf and GE informed them that the payment was misapplied to incorrect account number. After calling GE again they made me write a letter to some :Presidential Cores" address in El Paso, TX, with all the documentation. I received another statement that showed a late fee and the interest was still due. When I contacted them again and spoke to a supervisor - the so called "escalation" department she said the interest was valid since it was paid 2 days late - even though it was late because of their own misapplied error!! She stated she did not have the authority to remove it since the Presidential review committee declined my request. It is so unbelievable and frustrating. I feel they are being very deceptive and manipulative just to get more $$ out of their consumer. No wonder our economy is in the shape it is in with companies doing things like this and there's nothing we can do as consumers as if we do not pay it our credit rating will be effected. PLEASE beware of GE Care Credit!!
