I have been filling 2 monthly prescriptions with the CVS pharmacy located at Rt. 35 & Shrewsbury Av. for several months now, since I moved to the area. I requested that the pharmacy make an attempt to order my medications in advance, to avoid my having to make a minimum of 2 trips per month (1 to drop of prescription & another to pick up medication). I offered to telephone a week ahead of each dr's apointment, as I have been told it takes a week to order. This is an ongoing prescription - I have been taking the same medicaiton for nearly 2 years - additionally, the medications cost just under $200, and I typically buy several other items while I'm in the store. From the reactions I given by everyone, including the pharmacist and the assistant manager, I was essentially told that the inconvenience of the employees having to attend to my request far outweighed any inconvenience to myself or the environment by having to make a minimum of 2 trips each month. Not only have I made this arrangement in the past, with two other pharmacies but another local pharmacy (much closer to my home) also offered to order my medication if I telephoned ahead of each dr appointment. I have been filling these prescriptions at CVS since I moved to the area just over 9 months ago, not for its convenient location but more because I enjoyed the extra shopping I would do at the store when I picked up my prescription. From now on, however, I plan to be doing any extra shopping elsewhere and I will be filling my prescriptions at a more local pharmacy - one that cares...
