I recently received my credit card statement which had the rental car we rented while in San Francisco, August 18-24. It showed a charge of $988. According to my estimated charges and my the charge from when I booked, it was $488. I called Budget to see why I was charged an extra $500 and they told me it was because I didn't return the car until August 31. Well,I don't know how that was possible as I was on a flight home on August 24. When we returned the car to the airport, the return lines were so long, we were directed to pull the car into the return line for Avis, which was right next to Budget. When a guy cam to scan the car in, he said, "Oh, it's a Budget car", and walked away. We had a plane to catch and couldn't stand there waiting for someone to come, so we left the keys in the car, parked in the Avis line, and got on our plane. Budget now tells me that they need to review security tapes to see when car was returned. I'm telling you, I did not have that car for 7 more days unless it magically transferred itself to Columbus, OH. I expect Budget to make this right and correct the charges. I plan on renting from Budget again for our trip to Arizona the end of October, but if they can't correct this mistake, then I will not rent from them again.
