Bosch Dishwashers defective - SHU 5300

We have a Bosch dishwasher, model SHU 5300, that has stopped working. After a brief online search, it is apparent that there is a defect in the circuit board of this particular model. Many consumers have had problems with it and many have posted complaints.
The dishwasher is only three years old. Bosch will cover the cost of a new circuit board, but will not pay for the labor. The Bosch repair people want to charge us $100 to enter our house and look at the dishwasher. The labor would be above and beyond that minimum amount of money.
Considering this is a problem that has been reported by MANY owners of this same model, one would assume a company such as Bosch would stand behind the product and offer to cover the expense of the repair. (Honestly, one would assume Bosch would have issued a recall and fixed all of these defective machines before allowing so many customers to be unhappy.)
I am extremely dissatisfied with the dishwasher, but I am even more dissatisfied with the Bosch company.

It would appear that the Bosch SHU 5300 has a number of quality problems. We have had a problem with it smelling ever since we bought it. The factory rep. came out and spent 15 mins., then told us we need to run a special cleaner. Well that did not work, so we called A & B Appliance repair. The tech. charge $65 for svc cal, $26 for pressure chamber, $110 for Heat Assy., $10 for a clamp, so total of $284.51 and the problem is still not fix. I only wish I had seen your complaint before buying or having the service call. Bosch used to stand for a quality product, but not any more.

I have had the same issues with the control board on this Bosch dishwasher. We have had it replaced twice, and the company does not seem to care. I will never buy anything Bosch again.

I bought a bosch skx43 May 07. It is a lemon. Problems from day 1. Bosh factory service doesn't fix it, Loews warranty company Active Appliance, doesn't show up after making us wait 4 hours. It is a lemon. Beware of this machine. I plan to remove it and give it back to Bosh with a lawsuit for damages.
