Big Disappointment - customer care

A couple days a week I'll pick up a breakfast sandwich and a cup of hot coffee from McDonald's in the morning before I go to work. They have such great tasting coffee. Well, a couple days ago I received a coupon book in the mail for Duncan Donuts offering various discounts and deals. One deal was for their new egg white flatbread sandwich that they've been advertising on television. So, I figured that since today is one Pittsburgh's coldest days (-20) on record since 1940, maybe some hot coffee and a low calorie sandwich from Duncan Donuts would do me good. Unfortunately, that was not the case. First of all, they did not have any decafinated coffee readily available at the time, but it was currently brewing. I had to get to work. I didn't have time to wait, so I opted for the hot chocolate instead. The cashier asked me if I wanted whip cream on top and I said yes with a smile. Next, I ordered the veggie egg white sandwich special with a free Medium ice tea. Well, they did not have ice tea because their brewing machine wasn't working. I asked if they would offer another free beverage in its place and I was told no. I did not want to fuss, so I just left with my sandwich, hot chocolate, donut & No Deal. Well, when I got to my desk and settled down to eat my meal, I noticed that the cashier forgot my delicious whip cream on top of my hot chocolate. I felt so slighted. Then, when I went to bite into my veggie egg white flat bread sandwich, it was like crunching down on cardboard. Yuk, it was the worst sandwich ever! The egg whites tasted overcooked and the flat bread was very dry and hard. Needless to say, my experience was less than pleasureable and I was very disappointed. It was a waste of $5.00 spent. I have to say that I will be going back to McDonald's come Monday morning. At least I know with them I won't have to wait on a cup of hot decafe coffee and I won't have to risk breaking a tooth after biting down into their sandwich. As far as duncan donuts is concerned, I'll just stick to just their donuts from now on.
