Beware Region Coding Rip Off - Sharpe's

I ordered a couple of sets of DVDs from this business. Their site has extremely low prices (first red flag), but it promises that all their DVDs play on Region 1 sets (USA coding). One of the sets they sent me does not play on Region 1 sets. The package came from China (second red flag, not able to read return address). When I emailed about returning the DVDs for refund they gave me a runaround, tried to claim the fault lay in my less-than-6-month-old DVD player that works with every other DVD I've put in it, and generally tried to ignore me. When I threatened to file a complaint with the authorities, they threatened to take action against me. They have a return policy, but say they charge a 25% restocking fee, and the buyer is responsible for all shipping and handling charges, all for items that they sold fraudulently by claiming the DVDs play in Region 1 DVD sets when they don't. Plus I've yet to find an address on their site for returning items. The only contact address on the site is in the Netherlands Antilles. (3rd red flag).

So purchase from them at your own risk.

Coincidentally, after my run-in with their non-existent customer service, my credit card number was compromised for the first time ever, and fraudulent purchases were made on my card. Coincidence?
