Before you consider buying a television at a Walmart store, please read about the experience I had yesterday:
I purchased a 26 inch flat screen TV on November 2 for my 86 year old mother. This was her Christmas gift from me as she was going into an assisted living facility in December. The TV was $378.00 because it was offered as a special "early" Christmas savings price. Since going to the assisted living facility mother has used the TV probably a total of 2 hours, tops. She called yesterday to tell me that her TV wasn't working. The maintenance man checked and said it was definately the TV.....don't forget now.....Christmas gift, bought in Nov., not used until January......
I took the TV to Walmart in Buford WITH THE RECEIPT.......after having three people, two of which were managers, help me....because the TV had been purchased for more than 90 days, they would not make any adjustments. I took the TV to Walmart at Suwanee with the same results, three people two were Assistant Managers, no one would make an adjustment of any kind. The last lady, an Assistant manager at Suwanee, said...well, if you had the original box that would make a difference. Come on people......how many people saved all the boxes you ended up with Christmas?????
I feel like I was total ignored because I had a LARGE item. I stood and watched people in customer service bringing things back without a receipt and the people behind customer service was very eager to help them....again WITHOUT a receipt. One lady in line said to me.....you need to go buy a new TV and swap the TV's then bring it back.....she said it's the only way to win at their game. I am an honest person. I told the truth and I had my receipt. Remember if you ever consider buying a TV at Walmart....this could happen to you. I wonder what Sam Walton would think??????
