For several days last week, I received emails from Coldwater Creek stating "Take 40% off the ENTIRE site!" (their words, not mine). While the sale was in progress, I also received two catalogs from the company. I found a blouse that I liked and noticed the decription included the words "catalog and web only" - meaning it was not available in the store.

I went online to purchase during the 40% off sale and could not locate the item. When I did a catalog search for it, I received an error message stating "Item is sold out." This seemed odd to me since it was a new item that only appeared in a catalog the previous day.

I sent an email to the company,and received a response stating "The recent offer of 40% off was valid only for items featured on our website during the duration of this sale. Many items from our latest catalog were purposefully excluded as it included a great deal of brand new merchandise."

I'm unhappy for two reasons -
1. The company's emails regarding the sale specifically stated "ENTIRE site" and there was no fine print indicating only certain items were available; and
2. The message I received when searching for the itme was a blatant lie - the item wasn't "sold out" - it was removed prior to the sale.

I've been a customer of Coldwater Creek for the past twelve years - first through their catalogs and now at their local stores. Suffice it to say I now consider myself a "former customer". I don't need to do business with companies that are deceptive.
