Badger Mutual is a Homeowners Insurance I purchased a policy 7 years ago and paid the yearly price hike in full and on time for my rental property I disclosed I'd eventually move into after the kids left for college.
I was beginning to remodel in July 2006 having college students work on the tasks of building a wood fense , painting ,etc. All the bills were in my name except the eletric/gas while the kids were at the house in Aug ?

In Feb toward the end I moved in to oversee the completion of flooring, and updates . In March I was out of town a couple days and before I left I turned off the water because the new kitchen faucet dripped from the turn off valve under the sink.I had newer boilers and didn't know if turning off the water would effet the boilers (so I called to make sure to a heating company) I did everything in my control to secure my home for the few days.It was warm previously and on St Pattys Day I attended the parade with a cool.

I left shortly after that for a few days and came back at late evening to find the apt cool and looked immediately went to the heat control box -Thats when I discovered the radiator in the kitchen EXPLODED ( I didn't know they ever did that) Black soot over the freshly painted ceiling, walls clear across the room and fabric kitchen chairs , ruining the newly installed kitchen flooring. Badger Mutual insurance adjustor Dale Dano - intimiated me on the phone-bringing me to tears with his accusations of neglect, scamming the insurance company , and out right denial then slamming the phone in my ear telling me he was going to send an adjustor but they wouldn't pay a dime!- The adjuster from RGA came out approved my claim and then told me later they don't have to pay because the heat wasn't high enough, then because it was a rental and I was living there, then it was because it was owner occupied and I was not living there, then it was because it was vacant , then it was because I had a Post office box (and was scamming the company) then it was because I couldn't get someone elses electric and gas statements (its like getting someone elses credit card statements) ...I provided them with proof the heat was on and working in Dec/Jan and prior to the explosion - but that wasn't enough . They only denied my claim (after approving it) when the estimates came in at over $15,000 because when the first radiator exploded (from a faulty pressure relief valve in the boilers installed new when I purchase the duplex)
