Bad, Bad, Bad Customer Service - Tickets for events

I sold tickets on Stubhub several times and dealing with their live customer service is always an unpleasant experience. It starts with you being on hold for at least 15 minutes and it continues with representatives who are poorly trained and very unfriendly. Generally they promise to have a team investigate your problem and get back to you within 24 to 48 hours. Unfortunately the never get back to you and you have to start the process all over again a few days later. Of course, this is in addition to their outrageous fees. I stay away from this company whenever I can.

Stubhub has found a loophole in the law and facilitates scalping. They allow members to charge whateverthey want for tickets and allow you, the consumer, to buy them at highly inflated costs. They problem with this scenario is that THEY DO NOT DISCLOSE THE FACE VALUE OF THE TICKETS. They do not require those posting their tickets for sale to disclose the value of the tickets. So, unless you know how the venue is set up, and how the venue prices every seat, you are going to get ripped off. For instance, my husband and I spend $200 on two tickets to a play. Once we received the tickets, we saw they had a face value of $30. Thanks Stubhub. And of course, they are hands off - their response is that they are a third party. They can't control what people charge.

However, it is their site, their profits, and they are facilitating an activity that is illegal. If I allow you into my home and know that you will be committing a crime there, I'm an accessory and will be held accountable. Stubhub is aware of what is going on on their site and is allowing it to happen. Their "hands off" approach is disgusting. There are lawsuits pending in several states against this company. Beware. Do not support a company that has no regard for their customers. Stubhub's profit increases by this scam. The more people charge for their tickets, the more Stubhub makes.
