Dear: Home Depot On February 2, 2008, I went to Home Depot to purchase a gift card in the amount of $500.00 and the Cashier said she needed to get an approval from the store manager because she did not have authorization to complete the purchase. However, I did not have a problem with waiting for a manager, but the manager came to the cash register and took my Home Depot Commercial Credit Card and ID and went to another section of the store and was gone for 3-5 minutes, I assume the manager made a copy of my ID and Credit Card, but I am not sure. The manager returned to the register, but he was trying to contact the Home Depot Credit Department, but I am not sure why because he or the Cashier never swipe my card, but while he was waiting on the phone for a representative, he mention to the Casher he was waiting to get an authorization (approval) from Home Depot Credit Department. Maybe the Cashier and Manager thought the card was stolen, but as a customer this act of stereotype was not store procedure Therefore, Home Depot violated my civil rights because there was no logical reason for the manager’s actions and I have never experience this before. The Commercial Credit Card Account is in my business name and the account has over $12,000.00 available on the account and why would I try to use a stolen credit card, but the manager did not know and I am the CEO of the company, but because I am Afro-American.
This is not the first incident with Home Depot On January 19, 2006, I experienced what I would call racism at the Home Depot located at 1151 W. Lugonia Avenue, Redlands CA. 92374. Unfortunately, Home Depot refuses to respond the last

incident and did not apologize, but this time I will not allow Home Depot to violate my rights for the second time. Therefore, I will file a law suit against Home Depot and this time I will make it my duty to hire an Attorney. Home Depot is the worst home improvement supply store in the world because of their bad customer service. Sincerely,

c/o CHAYO BRIGGS
