For a nice neighborhood italian try this place.

Yes the food is good, the prices fair and the room nice. So are lots of places. What sets it apart is the attention from Michael the host. So many times in NY you are nothing but a dollar to an owner. This is different. Clearly this is someone who wants you to enjoy your dinner and to come back or tell someone else about it.

The waiters are good and he runs the room with efficiency and detail.
