I am going thru a difficult period with my cleaning business in a very tough business environment. Unable to have access to credit and dwindling business receivables I asked my AMEX Business Card to provide me with a temporary lowering of my monthly payments until I can stabilize my business. I told them I would make a lesser payment lower than my min payment every month. I did not want to default just wanted some temp relief and thought I was doing right thing by calling them. Hell if the government gave them relief ..where is mine? I have had a 25yr relationship with them. They answered back with a breach of contract action and increased my payments to more than before with a 28% APR. I fought with them for 6 months while making payments to them. They send me to various collection agencies, never responded to my certified letters, never cared about me personally and finally CHARGEDOFF my business account on my personal credit. What followed after was all my credit card companies lowered my limits, increased their APR's and now I have access to ZERO credit and unable to continue to pay the. My FICO is now trash. They filed a lawsuit in Maryland against me and my wife (who's not even in the company, simply to enter a judgment and attaché to my personal residence). They never served the company (the creditor) , never attempted to make fair arrangements with the company and used a sloppy third party attorney to sue me personally and my wife for a business account . I have now hired a great law firm that is representing several defendants agains AMEX in Maryland. If you have similar situations please email me . Im interested in the circumstances. I am a willing party to a Class Action against them if similar circumstances are out there.
