Against all odds - Loan Modification

Almost a year ago, my husband & I fell onto hard times as we began to struggle with our mortgage with Chase. Deciding we could no longer afford the payments and we had fallen too far behind, we sought out the help of a broker to do a short sale on the property. Little to our knowledge did we only come to learn, he was doing NOTHING AT ALL!!! In February, I decided to call Chase to see if it was too late. The representative I spoke with told me there were certain steps for me to take to "possibly" receive a loan modification; mind you, we were almost 11 months behind at this point. We moved back to our property as instructed and contacted Chase EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! Each time, I was bounced around from rep to rep! It got quite frustrating but in the end, I was FINALLY assigned an analyst. Mr. Morgan was AWESOME!! He kept us very informed of the possible situations and told us to just "hang tight!" WTH?!?! "Hang Tight", I thought/ We had received a letter from a lawyer's office stating they were to begin foreclosure proceedings on our house. I called Mr. Morgan @ Chase and left 4 messages in 1 business day. I also called the lawyer's office only to be told they could not share any information with me except someone from Chase had been in contact with them re: our loan information. I recieved a phone call from Mr. Morgan today (3/23/09) to tell me that our LOAN MODIFICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED and we WILL BE SAVING OUR HOME!!!!!!
At the end of the day, we simply learned that even if it takes getting bounced from one rep to the other, it takes lots of dedication & faith!!

I too am playing the waiting game right now. They assured me to hang tight. What type of help did they give you. I have a 279K loan with a house worth about 180K and 6 months behind on payments and going through separation with husband.
