Horrible Service
On April 19, 2007 I came home from work and there was a tag hanging on my front door from At&T saying "Sorry me missed you for installation." We have had AT&T for years and did not request or authorize any changes to our phone system. I then checked my home phone and there was no dial tone. But when you called my home phone you got a message saying that the number you are calling (not even my phone #) is being checked for trouble. I then called AT&T from my cell phone and they argued with me saying I had called and ordered voicemail for my home phone. I have never had voicemail and did not want it. The next day, April 20, 2007 still no dial tone but if you called my home phone it would ring 6 or 7 times and go straight to voicemail. To activate you needed to put in your phone # which I did and it said that # was inactive. I called AT&T again on my lunch hour and she said she would take off voicemail and gave me another # to call if I did not have a dial tone when I got home, which I did not. I'm back on the phone again with At&T, they then asked me if I had checked all of my jacks in the house, I said yes. We then had to take a phone outside to the phone box and plug it in to see if it worked out there, which it did not. He said he was putting in an order to have someone come out to the house to check it out on Saturday, April 21, 2007. We told them that if someone was not out by 12:00pm on Saturday, we would be back on the phone. I was back on the phone and an order had been placed, but they had till 8:00pm to arrive. They said that no one needed to be home to get this fixed, I said evidently there does because they messed up my service without someone being home in the first place. They arrived at 1:22pm to correct the problem. The gentleman that arrived said this should not have happened and no one should have even come out to our house. I wasted my time and minutes on my cell phone trying to get this corrected. I think a credit is due from AT&T for my time without a home phone and my minutes used on my cell phone. The Service was terrible!
