ANY IDEAS WHAT TO DO ON LOAN MOD VERBAL PROMISE?? - Loan Modification

We have been trying to work out a deal with chase home finance since Jan, 2009.. they give us verbal loan modifications.. once we sent in our first payment on said verbal agreement and they did not credit our account.. they we wrote another letter (after many letters, phone calls, faxes trying to work out a deal) and advised them in our letter that we sent our first loan mod check.. they said they did not have it .. could not find it .. and a few days letter another check was returned back to us in the same amount.. wherein they claimed they wanted to the whole amount due... a few days letter we called and sent yet another letter.. another verbal loan mod was worked out.. telling us to make a payment on 8/1/09 and that we were approved for another loan mod.. different amount to pay then first loan mod verbal.. we were promised something would come in the mail to us setting forth the terms on same.. so far it is 7/25 and nothing has arrived.. about one week ago they told us the dept was mailing something to us.. however, with the terms not in writing.. we feel hesitant to make the first loan mod payment (they advised on the phone that if we do not get anything in writing we should still send in our money in the amt. they advised on 8/1/09.. however, with the first check not credited on the first deal.. them tying up our money then returning it to us.. we are hesitant to make this payment on 8/1/09 for fear the same thing will happen again.. we are calling again tomorrow to see if we can get the loan mod they said was approved in writing.. but so far nothing... any ideas what to do out there?

I am going through same problem with chase. who know of where I can send in 50 complaints like the phone calls they call me and i have been paying since 1/09- modification still not complete. Horrible

Dear helpless, I do not know if this will help you feel any better but I have been working on a loan mod with Chase since 07/08, I did get a mod in writing, began making my payments in Dec. 08, and began calling them to see if they received my mod, with the check I sent, somehow they lost the mod but cashed my check, this went on for three months until in Feb my house went into foreclosure with a sale date of June 10, persistance is the name of this game, I was able to pull my house out of foreclosure and get them to admit they dropped the ball, now after months of nearly daily phone calls they have put me on a three month trail period, not in writing, my best advice to you at this point is to not deal with customer care call the special lending dep.866 665 7629 ask to be assigned only one person to work on your account, and only speak with that person even if takes several phone calls to them where you have to say if that person isnt available I will call back until I talk to that person, document every call, every conversation, time of call, and everything that was said, tell them you are documenting every call, tell them you will be contacting Jamie Dimons office if you feel you are making no progress, progress is slow,so dont get discouraged, just get mad..in a nice kind of way, I am still in my house, and I am 75% confident that we have finally worked this out, but until I have the new arrangement in writing and in my hand I have told them, I will still be ready to continue this fight, the loan mod they gave me in writing in Nov I was completely happy with, and if the new arrangement isnt something I am just as happy with I will walk away from the house with the loan mod I have in writing, and they screwed up..and then I will persue action against them for screwing up, and I will let the chips fall where they may. if they wouldnt have kept cashing my check while losing my paper I would never have had to keep fighting them to fix what they messed up, there were many times during this fight I felt hopeless and helpless, but I finally decided no matter how this turns out, they were not going to break me... I will let you know in three months if what they did to fix what they screwed up, turned out to be a loan modification success story or a loan modification disaster. I have learned a lot through this process and I am willing to share, here is my phone number if anyone feels that I have something to offer them in their fight to keep their house, what I have learned I am willing to share...free of cost 760 489-9261.
