2009 Dockers are a disappointment - Dockers flat front pants

I bought 4 pairs of Dockers flat front pants from the Dockers website in late May 2009. The price was right but the quality was definitely lacking.

This was also the case when I purchased Dockers in the past directly from a retailer like JC Penney. Here are my complaints:

--The sizing varies from pant to pant. While the label may say a certain size, trust me the fit varies with different pants of the same size. this is somewhat mitigated by the flex waist but ordering online is a crapshoot.

--The inseam of Dockers pants also varies from pant to pant. I highly recommend that future purchasers of Dockers to go to a retail store and try them on to make sure that one leg is not longer than the other which i have noticed in the past.

--I have discovered that the finish on some pants has imperfections like worn out areas. I casn't figure out what might cause those blemishes unless they were not first quality but seobds..if that is the case, I am a bit angry that imperfect pants are being sold as brand new merchandise.

--Several pairs of my new Dockers had another color thread appear in the middle of a pant leg for no apparent reason. Please inspect your Dockers before accepting them.

The bottom line is that there appears to be a lack of quality control with Dockers merchandise. I realize that Levis/Dockers has tried to hold the cost of goods down by manufacturing them in foreign countries where the labor costs are down. However, the quality is far from acceptible and there apparently are no inspections of merchandise or not enough thorough inspections to catch the imperfections described above. What I don't understand is if at the point of manufacuring the poorly made merchandise is not being caught and removed, why isn't this being done state-side at distribution centers. Levis should be ashamed of itself...a quality company now associating itself with slipshod merchandise.

If the label on your Dockers says Dominican Republic or Haiti, I highly recommend that you vote with your feet and go elsewhere.

I decided not to go through the inconvenience of mailing back the damaged goods but that is an option available to you.

Signed: A dissatisfied and former Levis/Dockers customer.
