I purchased a Kenmore Elite wall oven on May 26, 2009. Got it home, hooked it up and the oven didn't work- no heat from the bake or broil side. Everything else was ok, clock and display was functioning as if it was working properly.Called service number and it took a week to get a tech out to troubleshoot oven. He supposedly found a bad high temp switch. He ordered part, came in 4 days later. Finally got a tech out the next week who found out the part which was suppose to be bad, was good. The problem was the electronic control. He requested an "emergency" part order. After another week and no part, I called the service number and was told the part was unavailable and backordered with a projected delivery date of June 15. That day arrived and no part. Called service again and they told me when part was due in the parts department would call and let me know the due out date. They gave me a projected date of 13 July '09
The 16th July I called the service number and was told the part was backordered from the manufacture. All the calls I made and the frustration I went through was to no avail. I finally took the oven back to Sears and got my money back. This will be the lst time I ever by an appliance from Sears. The parts and service department's doesn't know which hand is doing what with the other. And they hardly ever return your call after telling you they will call in 24 hours with updated information. The service I got was lousey to say the least.
