i had service with them and when i closed my account sent my cable boxes back and they got them then charged me 3 days after the got them then they say that i need to wait fo 8 weaks when they charged me in less then 24hr when u call in the will not help u i went all the way up on the call center and got no help called and called they suck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH WOW?????? Im glad i came across this page. I was about to get direct tv but not anymore!!! Thats my biggest turnoff, hidden fees and horrible customer service!!!

I have had Direct tv for close to 7 years because my husband likes the Nascar package. However, if a storm is in the distance, we lose HD immediatley and the rest of the channels go out. Its a sin that we can tell the weather just by watching our tv. Of course, during a storm is when you want your cable provided to provide the best service because there is nothing else to do. I have called Directtv several times about it and was told to apply rainx to the disc, someone tell me how i am, the customer, suppose to get on the roof and apply something to a disc that belongs to Direct tv.

I canceled service with in 24 hours of installation because signal was horrible, and they told me I need to pay 200 to get high def channels, which they did not disclose when I subscribed to service, I canceled right away , they told me there will be no cancelation fee, because of 24hours. Guess what, lie , lie , lie. Now they hang phone on me, dont want resolve the issue. But I am not stupid, I reported my debit card lost right away before they were able to take out $475. If they mess up my credit, I will take them to cout and WILL WIN !!!!!!

Direct tv charged over $230 against my checking acct for work that was never done. While they admitted their mistake, they hesitate to do anything about it. At first I was told the money would be credited instantly. That was a lie. Then I was told it would take up to seven days. That was also a lie. Now I am told it will take 30 days, but I learn there are others who are owed money and haven't been reimbursed after six weeks.

This is not a mistake, it is theft--pure and simple.

I will file suit this week in small claims court. No lawyers, no BS--let's see how they react to a summons.

You may have to use Direct tv owing to gegraphy or some other reason--but NEVER GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOU BANK ACCOUNT! N E V E R ! !

I have had Direct TV for 2.5 years. Started off ok and working fine. Now I have issues with Dish, HD does not work, and everytime I call them, they want to charge me to come and fix what they know is issues with the dish. WHY am I getting charged to fix their stuff? Isn't that why I pay a monthly charge to them? No other TV company would do this. I am now looking to get something else, but no one seems to like their service on anything else either. I think their prices are very high and I would love to be able to just pick which channels I get since there are about 10 I watch, yet 100 that I have to pay for just to get that 10 I really want. Total BS.

I hate direct tv!!!! They charge me these high bills and dont want to work with you on any thing, the customer serive reps dont understand english and I cant understand them. I'd rather not have nothing at all when it comes to them.

Direct TV is AWFUL!!! The only reason we have them is that they have a monopoly for the Football package. They are terrible and I am on the phone with them non stop with problems. The installation is wrong, the service is terrible and they nickle and dime you for everything!

DirecTV is best avoided. Their hardware and software is junk. Their Tech Help staff is robotic and limited. If your problem is "escalated" your file is guaranteed to be lost because of their 5-day expiring PIN policy. Beware of this company. I tried to work with them for over 10 weeks, 5 in-home service calls, and almost 20 phone calls to them. I wasted my time. They win, but will lose me as a customer as soon as my time is up, if not before.

Direct Tv is the worse. The customer service is past rude. I paid for a 2nd reciever in February and they never told me I was going back in contract. I found out when we called to do program changes and they told me they could put me back in contract because of some paperwork they gave me back in 2003. After endering some much of their rudeness I set up for cancellation. Now they are telling me that since we used a debit card to pay them once they have the right to just go in our bank account and take out the early cancellation money on cancellation day. We said no they cant go into our account without our permission and they responded yes they can and if we try to stop them they will take us to court. Nice way to treat customers since 2003.

Here it is, directv is a more then fair compay nad %99.9 of their customers are actually happy. If you want to got to directv OR ANY COMPANY FOR THAT MATTER go on the website and look through ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ANY CUSTOMER AGREEMENTS. Companies are not hiding anything from you they just expect YOU to do YOUR OWN research and be personal accountable in making sure that YOU ARE AN INFORMED CUSTOMER.

So when you are reading complaints about any company let me ask you to think of this. How often do you complain if you ordered food and something was wrong??????? Now when do you ever give a compliment when everything is fine? Really if everything is going fine or even great %99.9 percent of people will not compliment at all.
So when we talk to people on the phone, or even techs in real life, keep in mind they are only human and can sometimes make a mistake. But if YOU fail to keep yourself INFORMED as a CONSUMER you really only have one person to blame YOU!!!

Documents said I would get an HD receiver for my HD television. When I noticed it was not in HD even though the receiver has an 1080 button they told me the receiver they gave me could not do 1080. I called and asked them to send me the signed contract and they told me that they could not do that. What???? Be very careful with this company.

salesman told me I would be able to watch recorded shows in other rooms like I was able to do with att cable. sure he said. It wasn't untill I was talking to the installer after he was finished that I found out this wasn't true. The insatller even said he was tired of Direct salesmaen telling people that when they know it's a lie. He told me of having his tools locked away from him and being threatned yelled at ect.I called Direct about this lie and they responded too bad you can't cancel now. I said but Direct lied when they told me I could get a feature I couldn't get.so the contract should be voided. And all I ever get from them is the old I"m sorry but.... I can't wait to be rid of DIRECT TV!!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE LIERS!!!Stay Away From them... go to dish or somthing I sure will. I can't even get a program guide from these cheap&^%$#@*&s!!!!!

Ok heres my story ....... Direct T.V. is horable . I ordered Direct T.V . and everytime I got a new bill in the mail they were charging me for a extra reciever , I called every time to explain to them that I only had 3 recievers and not the 4 they were charging me with , and everytime thet told me they would creit my acct , but never did and kept charging me every month for a extra reciever , so I was so fed up with them and there very bad customer service, that I wrote a letter asking if there was any possiable way to get out of the contract , never heard anything back form them , then the other day I go to check my bank acct, Direct t.v. went into my acct and withdrew 832 dollars , without my permission , when I called them they said if you have ever used their online bill pay that you agreed that they can do this , what BS ............. THEY BETTER GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK . ALSO THEY WERE SO RUDE ABOUT IT , I HATE DIRECT TV AND WILL NEVER EVER HAVE THEM AGAIN . DO NOT GET DIRECT TV THEY LIE AND RIP YOU OFF !!!!!1

we move from nevada and we waiting a month and a half for installation then they call back and say that we need to wait another month cause they dindt have installers they do that to us after taking our money for 5 years
